Many of the predominant concerns of a modern society—economic growth, employment, standards of living, inflation, inequality, poverty, pollution---are primarily economic in nature. The Economics major will provide students with the analytical and methodological tools to understand the factors that determine such economic phenomena and how a society seeks to improve upon its present economic condition.
